Get paid

What you earn, the minimum payout, how to request one, when it arrives, and what a reversal does.

Before you start
  • An open storefront with earnings.
  • A Stripe account linked to your team.
  • The team owner role.
You'll end with
A payout on its way to your Stripe account, and a way to follow it.

What you earn builds up in your storefront's balance. You ask for a payout when you want one; Sushibelt approves it and Stripe moves the money to you.

What you earn#

  • For each charged step on a listing you sell, you earn your price for that step. Sushibelt's markup on top is Sushibelt's.
  • Earnings are kept in credits. A credit is $0.01, and payouts are in USD at that same rate: 1,000 credits pay out as $10.00. There is no currency conversion on Sushibelt's side.
  • A step that fails is not charged, so it earns nothing. A step a customer runs on their own key for your provider is paid by them to you directly, and earns nothing through Sushibelt.

Your storefront's Revenue page shows what your listings have earned; Payouts shows the balance you can pay out, what you have earned in total, and your last 20 payouts.

Before your first payout#

  • A Stripe account that can receive payouts, linked under Team settings → Storefront → Enrolment & identity (see the quickstart). The Payouts page shows Stripe connected when it is.
  • A balance of at least 1,000 credits ($10.00).
  • The team owner role. Admins and other members cannot see or request payouts.

Request a payout#

  1. Open your storefront and select Payouts.
  2. Enter an amount in whole credits: at least 1,000, and no more than your balance.
  3. Select Request payout.

The amount leaves your balance at once and waits as a pending payout. Sushibelt reviews it, then sends it to your Stripe account.

What happens to a payout#

Payout statuses
StatusDescription
pendingRequested and waiting for Sushibelt. The amount is out of your balance while it waits.
processingSushibelt approved it and asked Stripe to transfer the money to your account.
paidStripe made the transfer to your Stripe account.
rejectedSushibelt declined it, with a note, and the whole amount went back into your balance. A payout Stripe fully reverses also ends here.

Timing#

There is no fixed payout day: Sushibelt reviews requests as they come in. Once approved, the transfer to your Stripe account is made straight away. When the money reaches your bank from there depends on your Stripe account's own payout schedule. Sushibelt may hold a payout while it looks into fraud, abuse or a dispute (see the seller agreement).

Reversals#

If Stripe reverses a transfer, the reversed part goes back into your balance, in credits at the same rate. A partial reversal returns only that part and leaves a note on the payout; a full reversal marks the payout rejected. Each reversed amount is returned once, however many times Stripe reports it.

After your storefront closes#

Closing a storefront takes its listings off sale but keeps what it earned. The workspace closes with it, so a closed storefront's owner requests payouts from Team settings → Storefront → Payout account instead, with the same minimum.

If a request is refused#

  • Amount is below the minimum payout — ask for at least 1,000 credits.
  • Request a whole number of credits — one credit is one cent; drop the fraction.
  • Insufficient balance — ask for no more than the balance shown.
  • Invalid amount — the amount is missing, zero or not a number.

Note: a request is not a transfer

You can request a payout before Stripe is ready. Sushibelt cannot pay it until your Stripe account can receive payouts, so link Stripe first to avoid a wait.
